party rock anthems – LV

you can find every kind of music in Vegas and that’s just great because there is something for everyone! personally, i have been wild about LMFAO ever since their summertime hit “Party Rock” went out over the airwaves. while this song remains ever popular there were a few standouts over my girls weekend in Vegas.

LMFAO’s new hit – “Sexy and I Know It” L.O.V.E. – this is an anthem that is universally popular with everyone.  i can’t even begin to tell you how many folks were belting out this song during the 1/2 marathon!!! AWESOME

then there’s my cute, cute fave rap rockstar – Flo Rida – and his new hit “Good Feeling” oooo sometimes i get a good feeling. yeah. i get  a feeling that i never never never had before no no – i get a good feeling!

YES, definitely an anthem for our girls weekend played every night before we headed out on the town!

BUT if i had to pick just one song to be the theme song (and it’s a close call with the other 2 mentioned songs) it would have to be “Young, Wild and Free” by Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg.

don’t take all the lyrics too much to heart. just staying up late, having fun and not caring who sees!!!

stay classy las vegas

Team GoldieRox...boom boom pow!

the primary purpose of my Vegas trip was to complete the Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 Marathon. (well…maybe it was the “excuse” to go to Vegas and the secondary purpose if i’m really being honest) as previously posted – this goal was met!!! here are my other goals – all mostly achieved!

STAY in a swanky hotel: HELLO COSMOPOLITAN! nowhere is more swanky!!!

view from the Cosmopolitan...outstanding!

EAT at some awesome places that wouldn’t make me broke: LOVE YOU The Barrymore, Comme Ca & Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill

view of the strip from Comme Ca...fabulous!

DRINK some delicious cocktails that wouldn’t make me broke: lola loves HAND CRAFTED COCKTAILS with perfect chunky ice cubes! (i’ll admit i AM a little broke from this…see my NYC cocktail tour for insight) 🙂

dark & stormy with homemade ginger beer a la Comme Ca...yummy!

PLAY at some fun bars and clubs without waiting in line: TOTALLY DIG that promoters read tweets & reach out to get you on the list!

VIP entry + free drinks at Tryst...cuz that's how i roll! (thanks Dave)

SHOP to get some great must-have item(s): no SERIOUS damage here but still some fun finds

adorable Cosmopolitan t-shirt (check)

fun gold scarf to add some sparkle to any outfit (check)

seriously heavy metal that can't be bought but only earned = BEST BLING OF ALL!!

mission vegas accomplished

Team GoldieRox crossing the finish line at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Strip at Night 1/2 Marathon.

 Despite a few obstacles:

  1. 3 hour time difference
  2. 2 days of cocktails leading up to the race
  3. 4am bedtime 2 nights in a row
  4. 40 degree weather
  5. 13.1 miles ran in the dark around 44,000 people crowding the strip

We did it, ladies and WE ROCKED IT!

see & be seen at these vegas bars with the best scenic views

Where you can go to drink in the sights with cocktail in hand

By Tiffany.C.Hoang via the daily meal

Everyone knows that Las Vegas is all about the bright lights, the glitz and glam, and most importantly, having a good time. It’s easy to get lost in the craziness of the party scene, which is why sometimes, it’s nice to take a step back (or in this case, a step up) and look at the big picture — with a drink in hand, naturally.

To take full advantage of the stunning sights of the strip, many of the city’s bars and lounges have made the ascent to the highest floors of their respective hotels. The Rio’s VooDoo Lounge, for example, sits a staggering 50 floors above street level. But if that doesn’t give you a good enough view of Sin City, you can always climb the outdoor suspended staircase to the 51st floor deck. Craving an even better vantage point from your Vegas bar experience? Just take the elevator in the Palms’ to the 55th floor and you’ll be at Ghostbar.

That said, when it comes to great views, altitude isn’t always everything. The new Chateau Nightclub in the Paris Hotel may not be located as high up as other bars, but it’s still one of the best places to to catch the Bellagio water show. As Steve Davidovici, the club’s managing partner, explained to Las Vegas Blogs, “it’s a low vantage point so you get the street scene, the Bellagio… you’re getting a full 360 degree view of the Las Vegas Strip from anywhere on the terrace.” Sounds a lot more fun than standing on the crowded street with an oversized souvenir cup cocktail warming in your grip.

So the next time you happen to wake up in Vegas, head to one of these spots to drink in the stunning cityscape… and a cocktail or two.
